2-LAP RACE DIVISION

Vertical for Race Category: 4100 feet
Gates indicated in red are uphill gates.
Gates indicated in blue are downhill gates.
Gates indicated in red and blue are turn around gates that transition from uphill to downhill.
Gates indicated in blue and red are turn around gates that transition from downhill to uphill.

General route description:
The route follows for the most part under or near the two Chair lifts to the top. The descent route goes down Upper International and on to the bottom via Snake Dance. The second lap will bring racers up Lower International and out to Piss Pass. From there they will return to the bottom via Snake Dance once more.

• Start at the Plaza (approximate race start at 10:00 am)
• Follow under Armstrong Express, cross the creek and reach the first Control Gate at the top of Ingrids Inspiration.
• Follow the rope line to the second Control Gate at the Ice drip near the top of Armstrong Express.
• Go past the top of Armstrong Express and proceed to the third Control Gate at the left side of the Chair 2 lift shack.
• Go around the lift shack and proceed on the left side of Chair 2 to the fourth Control Gate at the top of Dawg Style.
• Traverse back under the lift and proceed up “The Fan”. The fifth Control Gate will be at the top of “The Fan”. Depending on snow conditions this might be a boot pack area.
• Proceed to the base of “Andy’s Point”. The sixth Control Gate will be located at the bottom of the boot section below “Andy’s Point”.
• The seventh Gate will be located at the top of Chair 2 and is a Turn Around Gate.
• Descend Upper International and pass the eighth Control Gate at the Snake Dance entrance.
• The ninth Control Gate will be located at the end of the Snake Dance traverse. Turn right after the gate.
• Proceed to the base, a Turn Around Gate (Gate ten) will be located to the skiers left of the finish area. Do not ski across the finish line if you are in the race category.
• Cross under St. Bernard and head towards the cat track. The eleventh control gate will be located right near the end of the cat track. Climb up the left side of rock face to the Rope three bluffs, across the knolls and on to Piss Pass.
• There will be a Turn Around Gate at Piss Pass (This is the twelfth gate).
• Follow the route markers back to the thirteenth Gate at the Snake Dance Entrance (this is also Gate eight.)
• The fourteenth Control Gate will be located at the end of the Snake Dance traverse. Turn right after the gate (this is also Gate nine.)
• Proceed to the finish.

1-LAP OPEN DIVISION

Vertical for Recreational Category: 2280 feet
Gates indicated in red are uphill gates.
