Getting there is half the fun

By Silverback

from Afghanistan

Pros

  • Construction and seams
  • Layout anatomical

Cons

  • Knuckles and sizing

Best Uses

  • Summer tactical

Size is definately off. In previous measurements... I have a normal size hand but the recommended measurements said medium (I doubted it but followed the advice). Wrong... If you are a large then go with XL. Can barely get my hand into the glove. I can do it but it takes some work. In the field, I don't have the time to struggle with putting them on in a tactical situations. I think a couple of uses and the seams will come undone as tight as they are or the fingers get strangled. Definately anatomically correct is a plus but now I'll give these to the wife and go for the XL which is what I normally should have done like any other glove. I kept them because like most gloves, I hoped they stretch after a few times out. Wrong. True to their size and they stay that way unlike other gloves (that could be a plus for those who get upset when their gloves stretch after a few uses).

Pile driver initial test

By DRob

Pros

  • Good palm protection
  • Good Ventilation
  • Very good dexterity

Cons

  • Straps are thick
  • Uncomfortable on knuckles

Best Uses

  • Patrol work and SWAT

When I initially tried these on at the shot show i really liked how they didn't feel like a hockey glove like some hard knuckle gloves do. Having said that, they still get uncomfortable after having them on by about the 5th hour. The knuckle portion that is. I am seeing some wear along the index finger because there seems to be access material. Two seams converge here and it might prove to be a weak spot in the design. On the plus side, I'm able to use my keyboard in my patrol car with the gloves on! The padding in the palms is sufficient and it didn't change my hand placement when indexing my handgun. So far for me they've proven to be the best mix of: all shift long patrol glove and a glove special for door kicking. Size wise i like my patrol glove to fit snug, to achieve this sometimes i even get my gloves in a medium but this tends to put a lot of strain on the seams. The Pile drivers i got in a large and they are snug. a medium would have been way too small and the XL may have been a little too big. So compared to other glove manufacturers i think these run just a shade small, which worked perfect for me.
