        I bought this product for peace of mind. I have a Marmot Plasma +15 and wanted to ensure my bag stays dry. The 10L works great. A little tough packing so if you wish to make things easier, go with a larger stuff sack.

          This is the best dry sack I've ever used. It turns normal stuff sacks in half due to the compression feature. Great product highly recommended.

          These bags changed the way I pack for missions. Now every thing in my pack is in an OR Air-Purge bag. If my bag goes underwater, everything comes out dry. If one fails, (hasn't happened yet) I lose one or two articles of clothing, unlike with a waterproof pack liner, where if it fails, everything is wet! I use duct tape to label, and distinguish them.
          The bags are actually about 5-10L larger then they claim, because OR has thoughtfully added space on top for rolling the watertight seal, so even with a full 10L of gear in the 10L bag, it still closes easily, and watertight!

            I own two. Very effective. Very nearly waterproof when closed right. I've had a sleeping bag and other clothes survive submersions dry as a bone in these. very easy to use and durable as well.

              I use this product on hiking and canoeing.

              When I use it on hiking, I like the way I can put many jackets in it and after compress it, it take less space on bag. I also like the fact that I never put rain cover on, and usually with this waterproof compression bag, on my backbag, I never get my object wet.

              On canoeying, I don't really suggested this bag for that sport, since it does'nt add the capacity be over the water since no air. Also, when I used it, I put it on the bottom of my canoe and after my excurssion, some of my things get wet because it was continuously be on some residual water.( In french instead of using the word wet, i would use the word humide, but don't know the equivalence in english)

                Q:

                I own several of the older Hydroseal compression sacks. I bought these when they were sized with numbers...(#1, #2..etc....) My sleeping bag won't quite fit in the #2 and the #4 is too big so I need the equivalent of the #3. Could you please tell me which size that is? When I stuff my bag into the #4 it compresses plenty short enough but it is way too fat and hard to get into my pack. (A large 7000 cubic inch pack....115 L)

                  The #1 would be 10L, #2 is 15L, #3 equivalent is 25L....etc

                  So, I dont know the old sizing... BUT I do know that a light weight bag will easily fit into a 10L Airpurge. My 0 degree synthetic (a bulky one) fits just fine in the 15L. I would recommend using one of those two sizes. if you like, you can ere on the side of to big, and get the 15L and fit extra gear in with it.

                I am looking at the 30L size stuff sack. will this fit the complete Military sleep system in it (Black bag, green bag, Gore-Tex Bivy) ?

                what are the uncompressed dimentions of this bag

                  I have a 25 liter stuff sack and there is no way the complete MSS will fit in it, there is a slight chance it will fit in the 30 liter but it's going to be a tight fit. I typically throw my civi sleeping bag into the military goretex cover and it works for uniformity purposes. Good luck, post what you come up with.

                  Thanks for your question. Sorry to say that we are not sure if the complete military sleep system will fit in the 30L sack. As for the dimension it is 28" x 10" this is with the top rolled 3 times.

                  I am able to fit the Canadian sleeping bag system (Outer, liner, hood) into a 15L bag. So I would say you should be able to get the whole system with bivy and possibly ranger blanket into the 30L bag.

                  Note: The Canadian outer bag is -25 rated so it is fairly bulky (also down-filled)
